5 Ways We Conserve Water
Earth Day is coming up on Friday, April 22nd. At Service Uniform, we believe that the environment is one of our greatest investments and continue to find more environmentally friendly ways to do business. Water conservation is a big initiative here. Learn more about how we do it:
At the Service Uniform facility, garments go through an extensive cleaning process through the Blue Chip System®. We have an extremely high standard when it comes to keeping your uniforms clean, so we allow ourselves to use a lot of water in order to do so. However, using a lot of water does not have to mean a lot of waste. We use a water treatment system that allows us to remove about 300 gallons of oil a week from water that we have already used. That means that, by treating water that becomes heavily soiled in our plant, we are able to reuse 90% of it! Not only are your uniforms impeccable, but they have been washed in a sustainable way. You can feel confident about using Service Uniform when it comes to water conservation.
We know that every part of the environment affects the rest of it: this is why we take care to conserve water and reduce waste. We at Service Uniform feel that uniforms themselves are a great way to reduce environmental waste as well as a cost-effective way to dress for work. Not only are you reusing items of clothing, but they are being washed with re-used water and returned to you in a time-efficient way. Who knew that by wearing uniforms, you were being environmentally friendly?
We also support ways to create a greener office, including the minimal usage of electricity, non-toxic cleaning products, and using as little paper as possible as well as re-using scrap paper. Consider car-pooling to work or with friends for events and unplugging appliances when you are not using them. Even tiny things like turning the water faucet off while you are scrubbing a dish or brushing your teeth, or waiting to turn the shower on until you are ready in the morning, will help all of us create a less wasteful society. Let’s face it, there are changes we can all make to try and reduce our carbon footprint. So why not celebrate Earth Day this year and do something nice for the Earth, like plant a tree through the Arbor Day Foundation or donate to your favorite environmental charity?
